Patrice Drinkard discovered cake decorating at an early age and it quickly became her passion. She has been perfecting her art for thirty two years and is now making her passion her career. She is mostly self taught with the exception of a Wilton Course that she took in 1988. After the class she was asked to teach the course, which she did for a year. Her first competition was at a Fair in Fairbanks Alaska, where she was awarded Best in Show and Peoples Choice. It was after this competition that she became interested in fondant and gumpaste. This added a whole new dimension to her passion and she began challenging herself by creating beautiful gumpaste flowers and detailed decorations for desserts. Patrice enjoys learning new techniques and making special creations that make your event unique.
Gabby Colindres has a background in arts and a BS in Interior Design. She has always looked for ways to express her creativity but nothing has inspired her more than cake decorating. A search for the perfect birthday cake for her son would lead her to discover her talent and passion for designing cakes. Having no luck finding a cake she liked for her son, she decided to decorate it herself. Excited by her success, she began perfecting her talent by taking several courses. Her style is modern and whimsical and extraordinary. Her knowledge and skills have expanded to sugar cookies, cupcakes, mini cakes and extensive string work. Gaby strives for perfection and finds that nothing is more rewarding than a happy customer.
Jane Koon is a founding member and president of the Sugar Arts Guild of North Florida (SAGNFL). Starting at her great-grandmother's knee she developed a great love of pure, real ingredients - sugar, eggs, flour and butter and making melt-in-your-mouth buttermilk biscuits, breads cakes and candy. As an adult, Jane loves being creative and uses food as the medium. Food and Sugar Arts became her passion and she began taking classes in everything from hors'de oeuvres, garnishing, and cake decorating to Chocolate Truffles, candy and lollipop bouquets and ultimately considers herself a professional student. All her skills and talents as well as her experience and classes make her a wonderful addition to Serenatea.
